Here's flowers for you:
Hot lavender, mints, savory, marjoram,
The marigold, that goes to bed wi'the sun,
And with him rises, weeping.
William Shakespeare (1564-1616), British dramatist, poet. Perdita, in The Winter's Tale, act 4, sc. 4, l. 103-6.
TIME: 6:12 PM
PLACE: Front porch
SUBJECT: Medium Orange Marigold
When it gets close to 6pm and I haven’t taken a picture for the day, I start to panic. Thank goodness for these warmer months when flowers are in abundance. Sometimes, I feel like I’m cheating when I fall back on a flower as my photo of the day. Then I think, what the heck, flowers are good things – they are beautiful, colorful and make an excellent subject. My self-imposed photo goal is achieved and I can relax until tomorrow. All is well with the world.
This is my son's flower! His room in the old house was painted marigold orange and that lovely green now in Drama Queen's room :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean - I feel like that sometimes too. But - when I opened your blog, my first thought was, "what a beautiful shot". I love the lighting in this one.
