The bee that hath honey in her mouth hath a sting in her tail.

PLACE: The side of the house
SUBJECT: A pissed off bumblebee
The bumblebees just love my Rose of Sharon bushes that are planted on the side of the house. They are busy burrowing in the flowers gathering the pollen with their butts sticking out between the petals. But when they back-out and see my camera lens, apparently they can get a little testy. I snapped this just before I made a hasty retreat due to an angry bee barreling toward my face. I did not get stung, but I guess I do need to learn to pick more cooperative subjects in the future.

Great photo!!
I'm new as one of your followers, but am loving your posts. Great shot. Love the narrative as well.
~Just me again~ - Thanks! It took a few times to capture this guy!
Susan - I should have turned the "click" to silent mode, maybe they didn't care for the noise!
Mari - I thought the quote was perfect for this too.
Sara G - Thanks...I love his expression in this shot!
Iona - I am so glad that you are here and thank you so much for your kind words. I enjoy seeing all the different photo blogs out there and am enjoying reading yours as well!
Looks like you're talkin' to the insects just fine, this is a phenomenal shot. But I guess he did get mad at you. :-0
