Monday Rain (293/366)

TIME: 5:59 PM
PLACE: Back of the house.
SUJBECT: Pumpkins and pansies

*~*~*

We had a cold rain yesterday afternoon, last night and on and off today - definitely in the midst of fall now.

For a Monday, the day went by super fast.  I work for a financial institution and spent the day working on a section of the quarterly Call Report. I was behind in getting my area done because 1) budget entry 2) auditor requests 3) backing up Accounts Payable for 2 days and 4) assorted account reconciliation fires in general.

October has never been a very fun month my area of the accounting world.

I managed to do laundry, get some Halloween/Fall decorations up *and* I even sat on the front porch in one of our reclining chairs and snuck in a 45 minute nap on top of it all.  I call that a good Sunday.  This is one of the pansies I planted on Thursday…I love the “faces” pansies have and this one looks like it is taking a bow and so do I for all my accomplishments this fine Sunday.

Well, tomorrow is the first day of fall here in the United States.  Hard to believe…just where DID the summer go?  Fall is my favorite season, although I think it is much too short.  I love decorating the front porch with mums, pansies, pumpkins, squash, cornstalks and hay bales.  I bought some mums and pansies last week Saturday and still have yet to switch out the front planters.  I was going to this weekend, but the weather did not cooperate.  Today was busy with work and Girl and Boy Scout meetings.  Hopefully tomorrow, after a meeting at school regarding basketball and cheerleading uniforms (I’m part of the committee to purchase new ones), I’ll be able to get the planters swapped out.  Then it’s laundry and cleaning…whoopie!
