“No matter how happily a woman may be married, it always pleases her to discover that there is a nice man who wishes that she were not.”
H. L. Mencken (American humorous Journalist and Critic of American life who influenced US fiction through the 1920s, 1880-1956)
TIME: 4:13 PM
PLACE: Front porch
SUBJECT: Rain on copper light fixture
This day before Thanksgiving was a dark rainy one. Nevertheless, my day was brightened by a good-looking, younger guy next to me at the credit union drive up lanes. He told me I was pretty, he loved my beautiful smile and he’d like to take me away and make me feel like I was sixteen again. I told him that I didn’t think my husband would like that ~ he said that he’d have me back before the husband knew I was gone. I said that while I appreciated the offer, I had to decline and then wished him a Happy Thanksgiving. And yes, there was a big, silly grin on my face the rest of the drive home.
