SUBJECT: Bees in the sedum
The sedum is blooming and the bees were out in force, collecting that last bit of pollen before it gets too cold. There was a ton of honeybees, bumblebees and even the occasional wasp to be seen. I didn’t take a picture of the wasp…I don’t like them.
Homer opens the freezer and pulls out a box of Neapolitan ice cream and finds that the chocolate is completely gone (The vanilla & strawberry are untouched.)
“Mmmm...chocolate!...D'oh!”
He pulls out a second box, with the same result.
“Mmmm...chocolate!...D'oh! Marge! We need some more vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream!”

SUBJECT: Sedum “Autumn Joy”
Cooler weather arrived today with rain and grey skies. A perfect rainy Sunday to take a nap and I managed to squeeze a small one in around 3 this afternoon. My sedum plants in the front flower beds are beginning to flower…love the triple play of color they have at this time of the year.

SUBJECT: “Autumn Joy” Sedum
I cleared out the front flower beds of leaves and old growth this afternoon. So far, most of my perennials that I planted last year are starting to re-emerge from the ground. It is so lovely to see the green popping up from the brown mulch. Hooray! StellaDella “helped” for about 10 minutes – I handed her the clippings and she placed it in the yard waste container. She said that the sedum looked like baby cabbages…I think they do too.
Now the hedgerow

SUBJECT: Sedum in snow
We received a little dusting of snow this morning. The kids were all excited, however we didn’t have much accumulation. This is my “Autumn Joy” sedum, that I planted late this summer in my front flower beds. I like this sedum, it started white, then gradually turned pink and finally a lovely red color. I especially like the dark seed heads that remain on the plant over the winter. I think it provides a nice contrast to the white snow.
