TIME:  8:10 PM
PLACE:  Living room
SUBJECT:  Homemade cloche filled w/ plastic eggs

Here is my small attempt at spring/Easter decorating.  A thrifted cheese dome with a wood base ($2.50) that I attached to a wooden candle holder (50 cents), then spray painted it all with a dark walnut stain, and finally, filled the glass dome with small plastic eggs (25 cents).  VoilĂ !…a decorating masterpiece.

Geodesic Dome (010/365)

2011 01 10 IMG_0679w
“Let architects sing of aesthetics that bring Rich clients in hordes to their knees; Just give me a home, in a great circle dome Where stresses and strains are at ease.”

Richard Buckminster Fuller (US engineer and architect, 1895-1983)

TIME:  6:21 PM
PLACE:  Grade school
SUBJECT:  Structure made of rolled newspapers

At StellaDella’s Daisy meeting tonight, we rolled newspapers and taped them into triangles to create a slightly wonky-geodesic-type dome.  I don’t know what the girls enjoyed more, building the dome or trying to stick as many pieces of tape as they could to the adult leaders.
