Clerks, View Askew Productions, 1994

TIME:  8:58 PM
PLACE: James’ room
SUBJECT: Hubcaps

I had picked these up at thrift store about 18 months ago with the intent of hanging them on James’ wall.
I finally crossed it off my to-do list today.
Better late than never I guess.
Or, I just need to get off my duff once in awhile.

Hatbox (149/365)

TIME: 4:06 PM
PLACE:  Front porch
SUBJECT:  Shriner’s hatbox

The annual Shriner’s parade is this evening.
I volunteered to ride with the husband, but he told me he already asked a friend of his.
(I dodged a bullet there!)
All three kids had their own plans, so I met my cousin and an old grade school/high school friend for beers instead.

Objects Are Closer Then They Appear (148/365)

TIME: 8:07 PM
PLACE:  Front steps
SUBJECT:  Broken mirror

Just like Claudia, we bought James a car for his 16th birthday.

From the proverbial little old lady’s car who only drove it on Sunday.

Except we knew the little old lady.

The vehicle was well-maintained and the price was exactly what we had paid for Claudia’s car, so we jumped on it.
So far, so good.  Well, except for the passenger’s side mirror glass which fell off and broke.
Still, not a huge issue…we ordered a new one from eBay.

Today would have been Mom’s 73rd birthday.

How I miss that woman.

Stella sat on the front porch this evening and paged through my Project 365 book for 2009 and 2012.

Now Claudia will be a senior in high school this fall.

The husband and I drove over to Jefferson Barracks to pay our respects to a couple of friends who are buried there,.
The volume of white stones marking the graves of this countries veterans always gives me pause.
