Essential Oils For the Dog (056/365)

SUBJECT: Essential Oils
So – I can tell my kids are older and require less of my time.
How do I know this?
Well, I just spent a couple of hours researching on the internet, made my husband drive to 3 different places and spent  $25 on that small bottle of Geranium Essential Oil.
All so I could mix up an organic concoction to clean my oldest dog’s ears. (I still need some Basil essential oil; I ordered that from Amazon and will add it to the mix when I receive it).

Stamps (055/365)

TIME: 4:37 PM
PLACE: Schnucks
SUBJECT: Stamp machine

My niece had her 12th birthday party this evening.  I bought her present while we were shopping on Tuesday, but I still I needed to purchase a birthday card.  So on the way to my sister’s, I stopped at a local grocery store to pick one up.

This is right at the entrance. You don’t see many stamp machines like this one around anymore.

I think the corrugated metal provides a nice background.

Jalapeño Is No Bueno (054/365)

TIME: 7:42 PM
PLACE: Downtown – outside Casa Maria
SUBJECT: Squashed jalapeño
Out to dinner with the HH and SD this evening.
This poor, single, mutilated jalapeño was on the sidewalk outside the restaurant.
SD kicked it in the street after I took the picture to put it out of it’s misery.

Back to Work (053/365)

TIME: 8:21 AM
PLACE: Work
SUBJECT: Parking lot view

My vacation ended and I had to go back to work today.

I didn’t want to, but I need those bi-weekly deposits into my checking account.

I park in the same spot everyday.  Since October 17th, I’ve been snapping a picture of this view before I get out of my car.  I hope to continue this for a year – we’ll see if it happens.
Here’s a comparison of my first photo from October 17th with the one I took today.

Wrapper Chain (052/365)

IMG_0687_e
TIME: 2:20 PM
PLACE: Living room
SUBJECT: Gum wrapper chain

At an auction about two years ago, I discovered an immensely long (at least 5 yards) gum wrapper chain in one of the box lots.
Immediately, I was consumed with possessing that wrapper chain.  I persuaded the auction assistant to take it out as a separate item so I could bid on it without having to also take all of the other stuff  in the box.
He graciously did so. I bid $1 and braced myself for someone to bid against me. No one did.  What? Silly people, did they not know the awesomeness of this gum wrapper chain?  I won and he handed me the plastic bag.  Then bonus! I discovered a second slightly shorter chain in the bag as well. It was a Christmas miracle in July. I spread the joy and gave that one to my sister.
The one I kept is long enough to use as a garland for my special ornament tree.
It’s perfect.

Still Shopping (051/365)

SUBJECT: Duluth Trading Co. shopping bag

My favorite shopping day – the day after Christmas arrived!

We started at the outlet mall around 8:45 am and returned home around 3:00 pm.

I bought a couple of things – work clothes mainly.

I’d consider It a success.

TIME: 8:51 AM
PLACE: Living room
SUBJECT: Kids and dogs

Another annual photo tradition.

Kids and the dogs in front of the tree before opening of the gifts.

The dogs were not very co-operative this year – I was lucky to get this one without anyone moving.
