This picture is from yesterday.
This is another mural on a building in our downtown.
A sign of the spring to come.

SUBJECT: Daily view
It certainly has become greener.
And the corn is getting higher.
TIME: 7:50 PM
PLACE: Otts Tavern
SUBJECT: Tree root
Here is an interesting tree root between the parking lots.
It looks like it was sprayed with orange paint so folks wouldn’t trip over it.
I can see a face in it.
TIME: 7:38 PM
PLACE: Back yard
SUBJECT: Pine cones
Our pine tree has a ton of tiny pine cones on it this year.
TIME: 8:48 PM
PLACE: Living Room
SUBJECT: Banana Tree
The horticulture club at our local college had their annual plant sale.
I purchased a banana tree.
I named him Burt.

It’s Monday, the 106th day of January.
Seriously, where is spring?
TIME: 6:53 PM
PLACE: Millstadt, IL
SUBJECT: Tree in parking lot
The fog is beginning to roll in this evening.
TIME: 4:20 PM (Tee-hee!)
PLACE: Front yard
SUBJECT: Branches, clouds and power lines
The Husband and I are officially old people.
We left the house to eat before 5pm so we could miss the crowds, get back home and go to bed early.
He went to bed. I let the dogs out.
They escaped the yard and SD, DQ and I had to go searching for them.
After about 15 minutes SD and I located them about 2 blocks away. She shoved them in the car and we brought them home. They showed no remorse for their behavior.
A wild Friday night!
TIME: 12:59 PM
PLACE: Poinsettia Wonderland Open House, Millstadt Gardens
SUBJECT: Poinsettia
HH and I attended this last year; this year we brought StellaDella and my dad along for the viewing.
There were many plants to see…
And also a few snow covered Rosemary trees…
Christmas will be here before you know it!

SUBJECT: Tree
My favorite thing about fall is the color change in all the leaves. This year it seems like it took a little bit longer for the trees to to ditch their summer green outfits to bright fall colors.
And, because it’s my blog and my rules, I am posting a 2nd picture that I took on Sunday of some other fall foliage.
TIME: 7:20 AM
PLACE: Highway 255
SUBJECT: Fog
It was a bit foggy this morning on the way to work.
And it’s hard taking a picture while driving down the road at 65mph.
I kept my eyes on the road.
Pointed.
Clicked.
Hoped I got something.
This is it – I’ll take what I can get.
TIME: 6:55 PM
PLACE: Medical Building
SUBJECT: Landscaping & a bee
James had an appointment this evening for his yearly sports physical at 7pm.
Before we went into the medical building, I snapped some photos of the landscaping.
There were several bees being very busy in the sea of yellow flowers.
"Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night."
- Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters of Rainer Maria Rilke
TIME: 6:33 PM
PLACE: Library
SUBJECT: Capital Pear tree
This pretty tree grows in front of the library.
I bet the blooms won’t be like this for long.
We are suppose to have storms the next few days.
“I glanced out the window at the signs of spring. The sky was almost blue, the trees were almost budding, the sun was almost bright.”

It is finally budding.
About time.
“There are no birds in last year's nest.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (American, Poet,1807-1882)
TIME: 4:02 PM
PLACE: Work
SUBJECT: Bird’s nest
How much longer before the birds start to nest?
I am so ready for spring.
TIME: 9:06 AM
PLACE: Front yard
SUBJECT: Dove in nest
Robins originally built this nest in our Purple Sand Cherry. Those babies have grown and flown the coop. A mourning dove has decided that the abandoned nest will make a great place for its future squabs.
