*~*~*
This picture is from yesterday.
This is another mural on a building in our downtown.
A sign of the spring to come.

TIME: 7:07 AM
PLACE: Back porch
SUBJECT: Bird
There was a bird flying around Stella’s room this morning.
Apparently, we have a breach in our security system.
TIME: 10:51 AM
PLACE: Work
SUBJECT: Duck
Our walking path at work rings around the pond in front of the office.
We occasionally have Canadian Geese stop by.
This is the first time I’ve seen a duck. He’s been hanging out here several days now.
TIME: 2:25 PM
PLACE: Work
SUBJECT: Canadian geese
These two Canadians were hanging outside our cafeteria while I was eating lunch.
TIME: 6:26 PM
PLACE: Front porch
SUBJECT: Mourning dove
Here is Momma Dove, sitting on her eggs.
She has gotten to the point where she will not fly away when we go in and out of the front door.
She even let’s place some birdseed on the shelf for her.
But we still can’t get too close; her comfort zone is about a 2-3 foot distance.
TIME: 9:08 AM
PLACE: Front Porch
SUBJECT: Dove egg
A mourning dove has made her nest on a shelf of the wooden hutch I have on my front porch.
TIME: 9:39 PM
PLACE: Living room
SUBJECT: Valentine decoration
Yes, I have plates hanging on my wall.
Yes, I know that is an old lady thing to do.
It works for me dammit!
TIME: 3:23 PM
PLACE: Rural King
SUBJECT: Chicks
A Big Sunday.
Drove down to the Rural King.
They had spring chicks in the store.
I did not buy any – sadly, my town does not allow residents to keep chickens.
And I think Mulder would eat them.
TIME: 7:39 PM
PLACE: O’Fallon
SUBJECT: Gander Mtn. storefront
Yes. We go a little crazy on Saturday nights.
Do you think you can keep up with us?
I doubt it.
TIME: 8:25 PM
PLACE: Chesterfield, MO
SUBJECT: Birds on wires
The girls and I went to the Premium Outlet mall in West County to look for some outfits for Claudia’s senior pictures.
On the way out of the parking lot, we could see thousands of birds sitting atop the electrical wires.
I bet all the bird poop was in a row on the ground too.

TIME: 1:49 PM
PLACE: Gas Station
SUBJECT: Sparrow
It seems like everyone else is off today but me.
(and my co-workers)
I hate it when a holiday falls on a Saturday.
Plus, I forgot my lunch and had to go to the nearby gas station to get something to eat.
I ended up with just a bag of chips.

TIME: 5:59 PM
PLACE: Pantry
SUBJECT: Bird
Somehow, this bird got into the house.
The cats and dog were going nuts.
So was the oldest daughter.
The bird pooped twice before we shooshed him out the back door.
All those utensils went straight into the dishwasher.

It keeps going “Coo-Coo”

TIME: 7:33 PM
PLACE: Drive up ATM
SUBJECT: Pigeon
This guy was sitting on the ledge in the drive-up ATM lane.
After I completed my transaction, I looked back and he was still there.
No one was behind me, so I reversed, rolled down my window and took his picture.
He didn’t seem very concerned.
I drove away and left him standing there.
“Go, Ah say go away, boy, you bother me!”

TIME: 12:10 PM
PLACE: Work
SUBJECT: Bored hawk and an upset swallow
The swallow was not happy that Mr. Hawk is hanging around.
It was flying around the larger bird, sometimes making contact.
The hawk didn’t move from its perch for quite some time.

TIME: 4:03 PM
PLACE: Work parking lot
SUBJECT: Cooper’s Hawk
As I was leaving work, I saw this guy in the grassy area between the parking lot and the highway.
I had passed him, but decided to take his picture and slowly backed up.
I fumbled for my camera which was lost in the black hole that is also known as my purse.
Finally, I found it and was able to take this one shot.
Then, a co-worker’s car drove past me.
He quickly flew away before I could snap anymore photos.
TIME: 6:47 PM
PLACE: Jack-in-the-Box Drive Thru
SUBJECT: House sparrow
I may or may not have purchased the 2 for 99 cents tacos at Jack-in-the-Box tonight.
While waiting in the drive-thru line, I snapped this picture of a sparrow.
