9 years ago, in late April through June, we spent many evenings and weekend afternoons at these Little League fields.

Now, the Khoury League building and concession stand has been torn down. The fields are deserted. No one plays baseball in this location anymore.  

It makes me sad looking at the abandoned space where MonkeyBoy used to play ball.  It brings home the fact that my children are no longer little.  Times change and things are not what they used to be.

We took Dad to Pho Grand for dinner, then stopped at Ted Drewes for custard.

There was still some day light left when we drove east on the Poplar Street Bridge going into Illinois.

I experimented with the zoom on my cell phone camera.  It seems to work okay.

I was able to talk to my boy this morning - had him on speakerphone so the husband and StellaDella could hear and speak as well.

I am attempting to make a Halloween wreath/door decoration with a witch broom from the Target dollar spot, and artificial flowers, witch hat picks and a wooden cat figure from the Dollar Tree.

I spray painted the artificial flowers and cat figure with black spray paint and ended up making a little silhouette of a cat on the cardboard in the process.

I haven't put the whole thing together yet - waiting on the paint to completely dry - we'll see if my idea is any good.

The girls and I went to the Premium Outlet mall in West County to look for some outfits for Claudia’s senior pictures.
On the way out of the parking lot, we could see thousands of birds sitting atop the electrical wires.
I bet all the bird poop was in a row on the ground too.

On my way to Lowe’s and the dreaded Wal-Mart, I passed by the cemetery and stopped to visit Mom.

I don’t know why, but whenever I get to feeling that everything is just too much, I can go walk around a cemetery and feel better.  It’s quiet and helps me put things into perspective.

Greenmount Cemetery is located at the top of a hill, and looks over orchards and farmlands.  It has some wonderful views, especially at sunset.

DramaQueen and I went to the ball game courtesy of tickets she received from school.  We were in Section 344 – Infield Pavilion…high up but an awesome view.



Molina broke his bat and grounded out to the shortstop in the bottom of the 1st.


The setting sun cast a glow over downtown.

A beautiful breeze was blowing all evening here in the upper decks.  It was lovely.

It was tough going back to work.  I’ve had about 10 hours of sleep combined the last couple of days and I am ashamed to admit that I did some head-bobbing at my desk.  But I made it through the day and had to stop by Target to pick up some kitty litter and some shelves to help organize my kitchen cabinets on the way home.  When I left the store I was treated to this view.

Not much time to take a photo today.  But I loved the color of the sky and the big yellow sun as it was setting this evening, so I quickly took this before we walked into the store to buy MonkeyBoy a new pair of swim trunks.  The pool opens up this holiday weekend – summer is starting!

MB’s baseball team’s end of the season party was held at the same house that we did last year.   SD and I were late, as she had soccer practice from 6 until 7pm.  Still, she was able to get some swimming, jumping on the trampoline and fishing in the hour and a half that we were there.  The evening sky was a pretty pink and the clouds a lovely blue.  The trees looked like black ink drawings on a watercolor background.

It was too cloudy last night to see the pinnacle of the Super Moon (where the moon is closest to the earth in its elliptical orbit), but I was able to snap a picture of it tonight instead.  According to NASA and contrary to popular belief, the closeness of this moon will not create any giant catastrophic events…the most it will do is could pull some tide waters a few centimeters higher than usual.  The best thing that happened today is that the spring equinox occurred at 18:20 hours – Hot damn and Hallelujah!

Even with the power lines in the way, this was a beautiful sunset…and to make it even better, MonkeyBoy’s team finally won their 2nd game.

Were the children tired this morning?  Yes they were!  Everyone moved verrrry sloooowly getting ready for school.  The older two had safety patrols this morning and had to be at school 15 minutes earlier than usual.  So I walked SD to school at the regular time.  Then off I went to work.  I was the first one there and after sitting at my desk, I kept smelling something bad.  I couldn’t figure out what it was.  Finally, I look down and what do I see but dog poop on my shoes!  Just great.  But the weird thing was, it wasn’t anywhere else on the floor.  You would of thought that since it was on my shoes, I would have tracked it throughout the office, but I couldn’t find any evidence of it being anywhere else but smeared on my chair protector pad and my shoes.  I was still the only one in the office, thank goodness, so I cleaned up the mat and my shoes and sprayed the air freshener quickly before anyone else arrived at work.  I then deposited the paper towels in the dumpster outside.  While I was out there, I went to my car to see if there was any poop on the driver’s side car mat.  Nope and no tracks leading to the outside office door.  Now just where did this dog poop come from?  Who knows…I guess I will chalk it up to one of life’s great mysteries.
