Keyhole Garden (234/365)
TIME: 12:20 PM
PLACE: Grade School
SUBJECT: Keyhole garden
This is the first Girl Scout project of the school year : a keyhole garden.
This is a raised bed garden with composting that distributes nutrients to the surrounding plants.
The center basket is the compost bin. This is watered and the run-off provides the plantings with water.
Our basket is wire with bamboo lashed around it.
I did the lashing – and I did a mighty fine job if I do say so myself.
Here is a closer look at my handiwork:
Nice huh?

Pull My Tab (125/366)
“Another one o' them new worlds. No beer, no women, no pool parlors, nothing. Nothing to do but throw rocks at tin cans. And we gotta bring our own tin cans.”

TIME: 5:26 PM (on Saturday)
PLACE: Camp
SUBJECT: Mother’s Day craft (or the end results of my late Friday evening and why I do not have an “official” Friday photo)
I was a little busy after work prepping for a craft for the girls to make at Girl Scout camp this weekend. I admit, I did not take a photo. *hangs head in shame* However, this is the result of my prep work…the girls filled cans filled with Hershey Kisses and decorated them for mom’s to pop open on Mother’s Day next week. I got the idea and instructions from here.

The Brownie Story, Girl Scouts
TIME: 10:45 PM
PLACE: StellaDella’s brownie vest
SUBJECT: Brownie Girl Scout Membership Pin
StellaDella participated in a “World Thinking Day” (a special day set aside for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to think about their sisters around the world) activity today with her Brownie and Girl Scout troop. That meant I had to finally get around to attaching her pins, badges and patches to her Brownie vest so she could be “official”. In fact, I had to make a trip to the Council shop earlier in the week to replace the pins that were given to her by the troop because I had no idea where they were in the house. Miss Organized, that’s me!
