Kill(ed) the Wabbit (328/366)

TIME: 8:14 am
PLACE: Back porch
SUBJECT: Deceased rabbit

*~*~*

(I made the photo today hidden - so look only if you want to see the deceased bunny, it's not bloody, it just looks like it it laying down, however, I didn't want to offend anyone)

HH left early this morning to go drive - he took the dogs out before he left.

Bad timing for the rabbit in the yard who happened to be in our yard.

It made a critical error and was caught behind our shed and the fence, it's escape was cut off on both ends by each dog.

Scully weaseled her way between the shed and the fence and was able to grab the bunny.  She refused to drop it until she went up on the porch and then she finally released it.

HH left it there in case it was just stunned and hopefully would come around - unfortunately, it was mortally wounded. :(

RIP - poor bunny.

Bunny (279/366)

TIME: 5:37 pm
PLACE: Yard
SUBJECT: Rabbit

*~*~*

After working today, I stepped out on the porch to see if there was anything interesting for a photo subject.

The neighbor's dog started barking and this bunny ran between our houses.  It stopped when it noticed me up on the porch.

I went back inside and retrieved my "good" camera - the Canon, along with the 300mm lens.  I haven't taken many photos with it these days - I've mainly been using my cell phone; it's always handy and takes pretty darn good photos.

The Canon does a much better job taking photos like this from a distance though.

What Is That Rabbit Smoking? (173/365)

20180622_20180622_213101
TIME: 9:31 PM
PLACE: Alley
SUBJECT: Rabbit

Stella, Claudia and I were on our way home from seeing “The Incredibles 2” when I had to stop in the alley because this rabbit was in the way.

He just sat there. Didn’t even move when I honked the horn.

From this angle, it looks like he’s smoking that leaf on the ground.

Must have mellowed him out.

A Rabbit and It’s Foot (118/365)

20150428 IMG_2195
Depend on the rabbit's foot if you will, but remember it didn't work for the rabbit.

TIME:  5:49 PM
PLACE:  Yard
SUBJECT: Rabbit

I think this is the rabbit that the dog chases each time she goes into the yard.
The rabbit is much faster than Oreo.
I don’t think there is much chance of her ever catching it.

The Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog (092/365)

Tim: Well, that's no ordinary rabbit.
King Arthur: Ohh.
Tim: That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
Sir Robin: You tit! I soiled my armor I was so scared!
Tim: Look, that rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer!
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)

TIME:  6:06 PM
PLACE: Supermarket
SUBJECT: Rabbit cake

I would never buy this cake for Easter.
I’d be too afraid it would kill me.
And my bones would be strewn about its lair.

SUBJCT:  Small rabbit

Although I did see a small rabbit in my backyard this afternoon, this photo doesn’t depict it.  This was actually taken last night at the pool.  I’m a little lax lately with my pictures.  Hopefully the drought will not last long.

Bunny & Basket (090/366)

2-12 -3 30 _MG_2725w
Q. What does the Easter Rabbit get for making a basket?

A. Two points just like everybody else!

A really bad joke

TIME:  10:41 PM
PLACE:  Home
SUBJECT: Schieich rabbit figure & basket

The Schleich animal figures are a favorite around here and if I happen to come across one in my thrifting/yard sale/estate sale browsing, they come home with me.  I found this rabbit at a thrift store along with this tiny basket.  I believe the duo set me back a whole quarter.  This bunny looks like a rabbit we use to own many years ago by the name of Peter Rabbit.  DramaQueen named him herself.

The Legendary Esquilax (036/366)

Chief Wiggum: Ooh, and here, out of the mists of history, the legendary esquilax, a horse with the head of a rabbit and the body of a rabbit. [the rabbit hops out of its pen] Oh, it's galloping away.
Lisa: [chasing it] Here, bunny bunny. Here, bunny.
Chief Wiggum: [correcting her] "Here, esquilax".

TIME:  5:17 PM
PLACE:  The backyard
SUBJECT:  Rabbit garden statue

This bunny is made of concrete and will not gallop away.  I think….I hope.  If it does, I’m betting that the zombie apocalypse will be close behind.

Front Porch Visitor (137/365)

“A house may draw visitors, but it is the possessor alone that can detain them”

Charles Caleb Colton (English sportsman and writer, 1780-1832)

TIME:  7:36 PM
PLACE:  Front porch
SUBJECT:  Rabbit

I looked out the front storm door and saw this rare sight – a rabbit was sitting on the lowest step of our front porch.  Oreo was looking out the storm door as well, but luckily, her lower line of sight prevented her from seeing the bunny, otherwise she would have gone crazy and I wouldn’t have been able to snap this shot.

Ralph Wiggum: You smell like dead bunnies.

The Bart of War. The Simpsons. Season 14: Episode 21. May 18, 2003

TIME:  5:49 PM
PLACE:  Elementary school
SUBJECT:  Dearly departed rabbit

We had our bi-weekly Daisy meeting this afternoon.  The girls’ project today was beautifying the school by planting flowers in the beds surrounding the trees in front of the building.  While Miss Jody (our fearless leader) was prepping one of the beds for the girls to plant, she came across a bunny…Dum dum dummmm!…a dead bunny.  !  The girls were fascinated and horrified by it at the same time.  They wanted to give it a funeral and bury it in the flower beds, but Miss Jody and I nixed that idea.  In the end, she placed it in a plastic flower pot and disposed of it in the dumpster.  RIP bunny rabbit.

I held out all day.  I even took a 9-mile bike ride.  Then at 8:40pm, my willpower crumbled and I could resist no longer.  I ate the bunny’s ears.  They were good too.  Happy Easter.

Down The Rabbit Hole (211/365)

2009 07 30 IMG_8575
“The rabbit presses back her ears,
Turns back her liquid, anguished eyes
And crouches low; then with wild spring
Spurts from the terror of his oncoming;”

TIME:  6:58 PM
PLACE:  The backyard
SUBJECT:  Baby Bunnies

We have bunnies!  Monkeyboy took the dog out this morning and when they came back in he said that she almost caught a baby rabbit, but it got away.  I went out with him and he showed me where the rabbit disappeared in the grass.  I saw the nest, but no bunnies were inside.  After supper tonight, the kids and I trooped outside to check again (with my camera and sans dog) and there they were.  I think there are 4 or 5 babies in the nest which is inside our yard, but just outside our fence.  Now we will have to be extra vigilant whenever the dog goes out…I do not need the guilt of any bunny blood on my hands!

Silly Rabbit (169/365)

2009 06 18 IMG_6455
""Now, my dears," said old Mrs. Rabbit one morning, "You may go into the fields or down the lane, but don't go into Mr. McGregor's garden. "Your father had an accident there; he was put in a pie by Mrs. McGregor."

Beatrix Potter.  The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Frederick Warne & Co. 1902

TIME:  6:25 PM
PLACE:  Across the alley
SUBJECT:  A rabbit

As I was putting some chocolate chip cookies in the oven to bake (don't be impressed, they were pre-made frozen dough from a school fundraiser) I looked out the window and saw a rabbit sloowly hopping from our garden to our driveway.  I'm sure he was in there nibbling away at our plants, so I thought I would shoot him...with my camera of course!  By the time I made it outside, he had hopped down the alley and into the yard across the way.  Thank goodness for a fence post to rest the camera and my optical zoom on my Canon PowerShot S2 IS.  I got him!  You'd better stay away from my tomatoes or I'll put you into a pie you furry rodent!

Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail (143/365)

2009 05 23 IMG_5460
"The rabbit has a charming face:
Its private life is a disgrace.
I really dare not name to you
The awful things that rabbits do."

TIME:  7:29 PM
PLACE:  N. Church Street
SUBJECT:  Rabbits

HandsomeHusband and I were invited to a barbeque today and we were able to attend "sans" children.  My dad got stuck with happily watched the 3 kids for us.  We dropped them off at his house about 4:15pm.  We weren't at the get-together for long, just until about 7pm.  We retrieved the kids from Dad's and as we were leaving, HH saw the rabbits in the open lot across the street from the house.  I handed him my camera and he took the picture for me.
