Reading (348/365)

2010 12 14 _MG_6392w

“To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark.”

Victor Hugo (French romantic Poet, Novelist and Dramatist, 1802-1885)

TIME:  9:44 PM
PLACE:  Home
SUBJECT:  StellaDella

I am amazed at SD’s current reading ability.  It seems like all of a sudden, everything just “clicked” and off she went.  She reads cereal boxes, newspaper headlines, whatever is on the computer screen, road signs and any book she can get her hands on.  Tonight she announced that she was going to read her bedtime stories to me.  The tales were “Click, Clack, Moo” and “FrankenStella.”  I love watching and listening to her as she reads the stories and sounds out unfamiliar words – I can almost see her mind working as she does it.

“Be as a bird perched on a frail branch that she feels bending beneath her, still she sings away all the same, knowing she has wings.”

Victor Hugo (French romantic Poet, Novelist and Dramatist, 1802-1885)

TIME: 10:38 am
PLACE: The backyard
SUBJECT: Three birds

I was backing out of our driveway to go to my client's office when I saw the birds.
