Veni, Vidi, Voted (306/365)

“People often say that, in a democracy, decisions are made by a majority of the people.  Of course, that is not true.  Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote - a very different thing.”

Walter H. Judd (American politician and statesman, 1898-1994)

TIME:  10:41 PM
PLACE:  Home
SUBJECT:  Sticker

The kids were off today for the second day of school conferences (mine had theirs yesterday) and it was also Election Day.  Oh joy.  I performed my civic duty by filling in the little circles on the scannable ballot.  I don’t like it - it reminds me of all of the tests I took back in my college days – belch!  Not a good memory to have while making important voting decisions.  Nevertheless, I completed the task of filling out the ballot; I walked it over to the scanning machine; I fed it into the scanner; my vote was counted and then I received my prize – the ubiquitous “I Voted” sticker.  I think it goes quite well with my pink hoodie.
