SUBJECT: Nuts
My mom used to roast nuts in the winter – pecans, walnuts and my very favorite, filberts (that’s what she always called hazelnuts) – She would place a bowl of them on the coffee table in the living room for us to eat.
In that tradition, I bought a small mixed bag of nuts at the grocery store on Sunday, roasted them and placed them on my coffee table in a wooden bowl.
Time to get crackin’…

This must be a generational thing? Until I saw your photo, I had completely forgotten that this happened in my childhood too!
