"The Mississippi is well worth reading about. It is not a commonplace river, but on the contrary is in all ways remarkable.”

- Mark Twain, Life on the Mississippi, Ch. 1

TIME:  7:54 PM
PLACE:  Mississippi River
SUBJECT:  Side of Ste. Genevieve - Modoc Ferry

This ferry normally runs between Ste. Genevieve, Missouri and Modoc, Illinois, but this evening HH & I were invited to cruise up the Mississippi and back this evening on it.  We were fed and there were beverages to be had as well.  It was a nice time.

TIME:  8:38 AM
PLACE:  East side of the house
SUBJECT:  Squirrel

While the kids were eating breakfast this morning, I threw out some stale bread for the birds.  Later, when I left the house for the office, this squirrel was chowing away.  As I came to the bottom of the porch steps, I stopped to get my camera out of my bag in hopes of taking his picture.  While I was coming down the stairs, he had started to run away, but curiosity got the better of him and he turned around and came back for a little photo shoot.

TIME:  8:28 AM
PLACE:  B--- Tire Mart
SUBJECT: Tires

The low tire light appeared on the Jeep’s dashboard last week, so HandsomeHusband checked the tire pressure and found the rear driver’s side was low.  He filled it up using our air compressor.  Two days ago, it came on again.  So this morning I stopped by the tire place before work to have them look at it.  Yep, we had issues, specifically, a screw AND a nail embedded in the rubber.  About 15 minutes and exactly 17 dollars later, the tire was repaired and I was on my way to work.
