Flashback Friday (064/365)

TIME: 5 Mar 2017, 7:22 pm
PLACE: Desk
SUBJECT: Random items

*~*~*

I had forgotten that I did not post photos during the majority of 2017.

I did take photos.  Here is a pen, a Yeti and scissors that were laying on my desk 4 years ago.

I remember taking the photo because I liked the colors in the lamp light.

“Somewhere, behind space and time, Is wetter water, slimier slime”
Rupert Brooke quotes (English Poet, 1887-1915)

TIME:  6:13 PM
PLACE:  School
SUBJECT: Slime making table

It was reading night at StellaDella’s school.
The kids made glow-in-the-dark slime.
Played Cosmic bingo.
Had story time.
And picked out a book to take home.

They took their slime home too.

Summer Cold (236/366)

2012 08 23 IMG_6072w
“Nothing is glummer
Than a cold in the summer.”

~Ogden Nash (taken from the collection
Good Intentions 1942)

TIME:  11:24 PM
PLACE:  Kitchen
SUBJECT:  Cough & Cold medicine

Besides homework, the first days of school never fail to bring home some sort of cold/virus with them.  SD has a stuffy nose and a slight cough.  Here’s hoping the over the counter medicine will be enough to make her feel better.

09-11-11 (254/365)

2011 09 11 IMG_4488scw
“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals.“

President George W. Bush, November 11, 2001

TIME:  6:32 PM
PLACE:  Grade school
SUBJECT:  WE *heart* USA

There were all sorts of remembrances for today’s 9-11 anniversary.  This is how StellaDella’s grade school remembered.  (It’s odd to think that more than half of the current student body were not even glimmers in their parent’s eyes on that day.)  One thing I do remember about that day is how the nation came together as one.  There were no Democrats or Republications, no liberals or conservatives, no right, no left…we were all just Americans.
As it should be.

Ice Cream Makes Everything Better (154/365)

Ice-cream is exquisite. What a pity it isn't illegal.

Voltaire (French Philosopher and Writer. One of the greatest of all French authors, 1694-1778)

TIME:  9:05 PM
PLACE:  Ted Drewes on Old Route 66, St. Louis, MO
SUBJECT: A Heath Bar & hot fudge custard concrete

I managed to shower and get ready this morning and the HandsomeHusband drove me to the office so I could work for a few hours.  Then, my wonderful beautician, Carol squeezed me in between early afternoon appointments and cut my hair so I can style it without needing two hands to do so.  When I returned home, I took a Percocet and a nap until suppertime.  After we ate, HH drove us over to Ted Drewes for some frozen custard for dessert.  I’ve an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon on Monday morning *sigh*, I’m quite sure surgery is in my future.
