Light and Shadow (022/365)

"The present is the ever moving shadow that divides yesterday from tomorrow. In that lies hope."

Frank Lloyd Wright (American Architect, 1869-1959)

TIME: 4:14 PM
PLACE: The Study
SUBJECT: Library card catalog

This card catalog was a birthday present to myself in 2006.  I purchased it at a local antique mall here in town.  My intent was to use it to keep my cardmaking supplies organized.  That never came to fruition.  Now it houses Nintendo DS chargers, photo CD's, paper for our HP photo printer, a comb and brush for making the kids presentable before they leave the house and many other miscellaneous bits and bobs.  This afternoon, the front door remained open after the two older children returned from school.  The late afternoon sun streamed in through the open door, casting long shadows from the drawer pulls.

That is such a cool pic, I had to tilt my head a bit to figure it out...lol I got it before I read the rest.

Very neat photo!

this is entirely brilliant. as it stands today, my cardmaking supplies are "neatly" shoved into an enormous plastic tub. which would NOT make a beautiful picture.

I really love the angle of this shot and the shadows ARE awesome! Amazing how every day items are converted to works of art by a keen eye!

Thanks guys - The sun is AWOL so much of the time in the winter, so when it arrives I try to take advantage of it!
