Mr. Salt
: What is this, Wonka? Some kind of funhouse?
Willy Wonka: Why? Having fun?

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Writ. Roald Dahl. 1971. Warner Bros.

TIME:  8:35 PM
PLACE:  Target bathroom
SUBJECT: Xlerator hand dryer
(taken with my cell phone)

DramaQueen had freshman orientation at the high school this evening.  I cannot believe that my oldest will be in high school this fall.  I DID manage to embarrass her several times during the evening.  That’s my job.  After, we went to Target to pick up a few items.  I had to use the facilities before we started to shop.  I’m looking like a Weeble in this reflection.  That is NOT what my physique is like – honest!

Butterscotched (209/365)

Willy Wonka: Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple.

TIME:  8:08 PM
PLACE:  Kitchen
SUBJECT:  Butterscotch morsel package & mixing bowl

The kids wanted me to make cookies this evening.  I told them that the only way I would do it would be if they cleaned off the supper table.  MonkeyBoy got right on it and promptly slopped a whole bunch of bacon drippings - we had BLTs for dinner - on the floor from the microwave bacon cooker while trying to clear the counter.  *Sigh*  God love him, he was trying.  I directed him on how to clean up the mess and helped with spraying degreaser on the affected area while he sopped it up with paper towels.  Soon all was well with the world.  Then I made butterscotch oatmeal cookies.
And ate three of them.

Thanks For The Gumball Popeye! (360/365)

2009 12 26 IMG_3188
Willy Wonka: Don't you know what this is?
Violet Beauregarde: By gum, it's gum.
Willy Wonka: [happily, but sarcastically] Wrong! It's the most amazing, fabulous, sensational gum in the whole world.
Violet Beauregarde: What's so fab about it?
Willy Wonka: This little piece of gum is a three-course dinner.
Mr. Salt: Bull.
Willy Wonka: No, roast beef. But I haven't got it quite right yet.

TIME:  2:05 PM
PLACE:  The window seat
SUBJECT:  Gumball machine

We (DramaQueen and I) did wake up at the butt crack of dawn and made the trek to the mall for some after-Christmas shopping.  We didn’t do too much damage; I picked up a couple of ornaments, some T-shirts and pillows for the living room couch.  Oh, yes and a festive gold tinsel tree to hold more thrifty ornaments.  The tree I bought at Dillard's where people were stinking nuts!  They were buying the German ornaments and nutcrackers by the boxful – to resell on eBay later I  bet’cha.  While I was there, I picked up a couple of 4lb boxes of gumballs to fill our gumball machine.  It’s been empty since early September.  Now MonkeyBoy & StellaDella are scrounging the house for nickels to put in it.

Which Way To Go (277/365)

2009 10 04 DSCF6578
Willy Wonka: So much time and so little to do. Wait a minute. Strike that. Reverse it.

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, (Gene Wilder-actor,
Roald Dahl-screenplay & book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," David Seltzer – screenplay [uncredited], Mel Stuart - director, 1971)

TIME:  11:57 AM
PLACE:  State St Road and Ross Ln
SUBJECT:  Double arrow sign

MonkeyBoy still wasn’t feeling too well today, but did end up playing football.  I’ve got to give him credit – he made some good tackles and played hard.  They lost big time though.  I don’t remember the final score, it was either 28-0 or 34-0.  Not pretty.

This sign was at the “T” intersection on our way home.  It reminds me of how I feel most of the time – being pulled in two different directions with no time to do anything.  Actually, I feel like I’m being pulled in a kabillion different directions, but I don’t think there is a street sign that reflects that!
