Wow. That boy can jump.
(He didn’t block the shot, but his opponent didn’t make the basket either)

MB’s team suffered a loss tonight. I have to admit, our opponents were a better team tonight. My only complaint is about one of the visitors sitting behind us on the bleachers. Let’s call her “Over-Aggressive-Basketball-Mom” or OABM for short. OABM was loud and a tad bit over-enthusiastic about any and all plays made by her son/team on the court. In addition, OABM was constantly trying to beat the ref on any fouls called against our team and getting upset if she thought there was a foul and it wasn’t called. Funny, when the fouling situation was reversed, OABM would not say a word. After the 7th grade game, MB wanted to stay a little bit and watch the 1st half of the 8th grade game. I was wary about it because I didn’t want to have to listen to her for another game. I’m glad we did though. Our boys were really kicking butt and taking names and it was nice to note that it caused OABM to finally lose her voice. Too bad.

About 10pm this evening I realized that I hadn’t taken a photo today. And I decided that I didn’t feel like scrambling to do so either. So I’m using one from yesterday’s basketball tournament. Here, MB has the ball and is being pressured a couple of players on the opposing team. He managed to get the ball to player #3 (he’s coming in on the left) who was able to make a basket. Nice pass MB.

Grade school basketball season is in full swing now. MonkeyBoy had a game this evening at 5:00pm – Our team lost by about 18 points but…MB actually made some baskets this game and he did not foul out – hooray! That’s progress.

SUBJECT: Donkey Basketball
My niece’s high school held it’s annual Donkey Basketball Game this evening. The senior girls take on the senior boys in a fundraiser for the Student Council and yearbook. Girls make one point if they hit the rim of the basket and two points for making a basket. Boys score two points only if it goes in. Several teachers also participated. Last year, the fundraiser brought in $1,500 for each group. Many years ago, when I was a senior in high school, I attempted to ride a donkey and play basketball – let me tell you, it is not easy.

HH was sick today and I had to coach MB’s 5th grade basketball game tonight (with help from another player’s father, thank goodness!). Waaay outside of my comfort zone, but I survived and I don’t think the boys were too traumatized. I asked StellaDella to dictate the description of the photo for today. Talk about “stream of consciousness” writing…have fun reading it!

“This is my brother’s basketball. His basketball up close looks like a jail-walk and by the way my brother’s name is Monkeyboy. And this is his basketball. My sister cheerleads for his football and basketball, just like me. But my, um, his sister’s are named DramaQueen and StellaDella. The first kid was born was DQ, then it went MB, then it was me, SD. Well, this is a property basketball, because it is a special one. My Dad, that was his basketball, now he gave it to my brother. If somebody robs our house we need to tell the jail that somebody robbed our house, but we don’t want it robbed, we just keep the door locked so we don’t get robbed and my…you don’t want to steal it, cause my Dad will call the cops. You don’t want to steal it because it is his old football, no, basketball, I mean. He was 5, I think, when his mom bought it for him. You don’t want to rob him. You don’t want to rob my room because I just got it cleaned. That’s it. Oh, my sister, has the flu. You don’t want to come to our house really, cause she has the flu. Well, it was nice knowing you, so come to this website and you better look for this basketball picture or if you don’t maybe it’s because you don’t know about it.”

SUBJECT: Rentals to be returned
We rented these games and movies last week and they were due tonight by midnight. I ended up going out and returning them at 11:00pm so we wouldn't be charged a late fee. Before I did that, I took a picture because I didn't have a photo for today. Sorry for the borrrrring picture...I'll do better tomorrow!
