The Future Is Here (181/365)

“Who'll be chief mourner?
I, said the dove,
I'll mourn for my love,
I'll be chief mourner.”

Mother Goose (fl. 17th-18th century. Who killed Cock Robin? (L. 33-36). . . Oxford Book of Light Verse, The. W. H. Auden, ed. (1938) Oxford University Press.

TIME:  7:47 PM yesterday
PLACE:  Dad’s front porch
SUBJECT:  Mourning dove baby

I had every intention of taking photos at MonkeyBoy’s last ball game, but I didn’t.  Depending how you look at it, I am either a bad mother for not taking any photos or a good mother because I was too busy watching the game to do so.  I’m going with the good mother reason. ~*~*~ This is the same nest that was in my June 18th post.  Sadly, it looks like only one out of the two eggs hatched.

PLACE:  Back yard
SUBJECT:  Mourning dove

One of the first things I do when I arrive home from work, is to let the dog out of the kennel and take her outside.  She is always very excited to see me and is raring to go out to the yard so she can save us from any invading birds and/or squirrels that dare to trespass on our property.  Usually the doves are resting in the grass and fly up into the trees when the dog bounds after them, but this one was sitting on top of the swing set when we came out.  Oreo never even noticed…it’s a good thing she’s not a hunting dog.

To Market (008/365)

To market, to market, to buy a fat pig,
Home again, home again, jiggety jig.
To market, to market, to buy a fat hog,
Home again, home again, jiggety jog.
To market, to market, to buy a plum bun,
Home again, home again, market is done.

TIME: 1:36 pm
PLACE: Grocery store parking lot
SUBJECT: Grocery Cart

I went to the grocery store today with StellaDella.  $161.42 before coupons. $147.42 after. I saved $14.00! Yeah me!
This is the only photo I snapped today. I took it right before we went into the store. I wish I would have taken a picture of the cart without anything in the background but the parking lot. Live and learn - Next time, I'll know better and isn't that what this is all about?
