B-O-L-O-G-N-A (060/365)

“My Bologna has a first name,
It's O-S-C-A-R.
My bologna has a second name,
It's M-A-Y-E-R.
Oh I love to eat it everyday,
And if you ask me why say,
Cause' Oscar Mayer has a way with B-O-L-O-G-N-A!!!!”

Bologna – Oscar Brand Ad lyrics

SUBJECT:  Oscar Mayer Beef Bologna

I’ve written about fried bologna before – today I’ve actually taken a photo of its goodness.  See how the middle rises up and it looks like a hat?  That means it’s ready to eat.  I threw it on some soft white Wonder bread and it was delicious.  The only thing missing were a side of Fritos.  <sarcasm on> Dad, I know you read this blog and I know how much you just love the smell of bologna frying on the stove.  I even had some potato chips with a sour cream dip.  All your favorites!  I know you are sad because you missed out on joining me for lunch. <sarcasm off>

Gas Flame (018/365)

“In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.”

SUBJECT:  Gas burner on stove

Oh my it is utterly blah and blech around here!  Whatever way like to spell the color, it is grey, gray, grey, gray, grey, gray, grey outside.  And cold.  And without inspiration.  And did I mention it is grey outside?  Anyway, I tried taking pictures of the gas burner on my stove this evening.  I used the tripod and my Rebel.  I tried fast shutter speeds, slow shutter speeds, wide apertures, narrow apertures, high ISO, low ISO and everything in-between and a kabillion combinations thereof.  I could not get a decent shot – frustrating.  So I said, “&$#% it!” and grabbed my Canon PowerShot S2 IS (which is having some tremendous lens issues by the way) and clicked away on Auto without the flash.  This is the result. *shakes head*

Throwing In The Towel (350/365)

Chandler: You know what's weird? Donald Duck never wore pants. But whenever he's getting out of the shower, he always puts a towel around his waist. I mean, what is that about?

SUBJECT:  Holiday dishtowels

My friend, Denise, stopped by last night to drop off my Gold Candle Canyon and Tastefully Simple order from her annual party.  She brought me a Christmas present - Christmas dishtowels that she originally wanted to give to me last Christmas.  She had thought that they would go perfectly in my orange kitchen.  She said that she meant to give them to me last year, but one thing led to another and it didn’t happen.  There was peppermint bark in the gift bag as well, but she said she forgot that was in the bag and that we probably shouldn’t eat it – it was past the “best by” date of May 2009.  I said I’d feed it to the kids and HH anyway.  We both had a good giggle over that.  Just two old friends being goofy.

Do you see that the stove is missing its knobs?  We have to keep them off as the cats have been known to jump up to the window behind the stove and sometimes turn the knobs with their back paws.  The burners don’t turn on all the way; all you can hear is the “click, click, click” of them trying to ignite and smell the gas spewing out.  As a matter of fact, I woke up to that sound and smell last week.  Not a good thing.
