SUBJECT: DIY Wreath/Door decor
*~*~*
Here is the Halloween "wreath" in its final form that I alluded to in this post.
Not the most clever/awe-inspiring/unique thing out there, but I am satisfied with my effort.

Just when I think I know all my Dad’s talents, he throws me a curve ball.
He crafted this wreath using just a hot glue gun, a foam base, pine cones, garland pieces, red berry stems and a battery powered LED light string.
I’m very impressed. - It’s totally Pintrest worthy!
I want one.

I made this wreath for St. Patrick’s Day.
Full disclosure :
I shamelessly copied from it from one that is listed for sale on Etsy.
Color variations – copied.
Flower types – copied.
Placement – copied.
I did use burlap instead of ribbon to cover the wreath form.
I also attached the flowers with Velcro so I can change them out after St. Patrick’s Day if I want.

I took the day off work so I could go after-Christmas shopping with my sister, niece and DramaQueen today. Boxing day is my favorite day to shop during the holidays as the pressure and stress of purchasing the perfect presents for Christmas morning is out of the door. Clearance sales are on and I usually have a bit of Christmas gift $$ in my pocket. I bought a some ornaments, clothes for myself (jeans, cords and a couple of shirts), a stylus for StellaDella’s Kindle and a t-shirt for MonkeyBoy. The crowds were small/non-existent during our early morning (7am) shopping time. It was nice.

I had pinned this idea to my Pintrest board back in September. I finally unearthed my ice skates (a $3 rummage sale find this summer), filled one with 70%-off wintery floral picks I found when Christmas shopping last Monday and hung it by its laces on my front door. VoilĂ !

On Monday evening, a man HH & I were honored to call our friend, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. “Cookie” was a former Sargent for the County Sheriff’s Department and an all-around good guy. Our lives were richer for knowing him. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace “Cous” and always keep those quarters in your ears.
