The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.

TIME: 6:58 PM
PLACE: Dad’s house
SUBJECT: The cousins
On Christmas eve, since the birth of the first grandchild, a picture is taken of the grandkids as they sit on the steps of my parent’s house. This year, we are short two grandchildren…my niece and nephew from San Francisco did not make it into town this year (my niece is actually in Italy visiting a friend – lucky her!). Before we eat dinner and open gifts, all the cousins sit on the steps and we take photos. In this picture, MonkeyBoy sits at the upper left, then going clockwise, we have my oldest brother’s two children, Michael and Brandi (who is the oldest cousin), then StellaDella, my sister’s daughter, Shayne (The Bean), DramaQueen and finally, my sister’s oldest son, David who is sitting in the middle.

I wish I had seen this earlier - I would have taken one of all the kids at our house! What a fun tradition!
