I had an appointment to donate platelets after work today.
I drove to St. Louis.
Filled out the questionnaire.
They pricked my finger to get a hemoglobin level.
It wasn’t high enough!
WTH?
It was a 12.0 and the minimum to donate was a 12.5
That really upset me.

As I was leaving work, I saw this guy in the grassy area between the parking lot and the highway.
I had passed him, but decided to take his picture and slowly backed up.
I fumbled for my camera which was lost in the black hole that is also known as my purse.
Finally, I found it and was able to take this one shot.
Then, a co-worker’s car drove past me.
He quickly flew away before I could snap anymore photos.

It looks like my great-grandmother Mary is pregnant with her youngest daughter, Marie.
Great-Aunt Marie is celebrating her 90th birthday this year.

Joseph Capone is not only my 2nd great-grand uncle on my paternal grandmother’s side (he is Mary’s maternal uncle), but he is also my 1st cousin, 3 times removed through my paternal grandfather’s side.
It’s a twisted family tree.
