SD washed a container of beads and left them in the bathroom to dry.

SUBJECT: Rainbow
Not the best photo, but hey, I was driving and it was fading.
TIME: 8:00 PM
PLACE: Target
SUBJECT: Wine
StellaDella and I had a big Friday night out – We ate at Qdoba and went to Target.
I did not buy any wine, even though I may to drink some after tomorrow.
That was “vagueposting” – you will see why with tomorrow’s post.
TIME: 4:08 PM
PLACE: Work parking lot
SUBJECT: Sky
As I left work, I noticed an unusual sight in the sky. The sun and a 2nd incandescence that you can see to the left of the photo. Don’t know what it is, some say it is due to Chemtrails, others say it is a sign of the Nibiru Cataclysm. Looks like we are all doomed.

PLACE: Home
SUBJECT: Flower
HH’s co-workers had a ficus tree with a braided trunk delivered to the house in sympathy for the passing of his father. A container holding several flowers was nestled in the top of the tree. This Gerber Daisy was one of them.
“The neurosis in which the search for safety takes its clearest form is in the compulsive-obsessive neurosis. Compulsive-obsessive to frantically order and stabilize the world so that no unmanageable, unexpected or unfamiliar dangers will ever appear.”

SUBJECT: M&Ms
I took this photo with my phone camera. Yes, I arrange my M&Ms by color. I ate the brown ones first (as you can see, they are not in the picture). Then, I eat any extraneous colors. For example, there were 12 orange and 15 yellow M&Ms, so I ate 3 orange ones and 6 yellow ones so that they would be even with the 9 green M&Ms. Since the red and blue M&Ms were on each end like bookends, the fact that there only 6 of each was not a problem. Finally, I ate a row of M&Ms from each end…for example: a row of red and blue; a row of red and blue; a row of orange and green (3 times), then finally the yellow ones in the middle. That didn’t sound too obsessive-compulsive, did it?
Paul: Did you eat a lot of paint chips when you were a kid?

PLACE: Lowe’s Home Improvement Store
SUBJECT: Wall of paint chips
StellaDella picked out several shades of paint chips to show me what color she wants her room to be painted. The color? Black! I told her that when we paint her room (which isn’t in the scheme of things right now) we would paint only one wall black…the other 3 will have to be a lighter color, She seemed to accept that. *shakes head* That girl.
~*~*~
This was a side trip for the main reason I had to go to Lowe’s this evening. Our dishwasher, after 9-1/2 years and averaging at least a load of dishes a day, bit the dust. I went to scope out the potential replacements. I found one I like, but I’m going to be stuck doing dishes by hand until Wednesday. Why? Well, the big Labor Day sale will not begin until then…hey it’s an additional 15% off…I can wait for that.

PLACE: Dad’s house
SUBJECT: Hot air balloon
After supper, MonkeyBoy and HandsomeHusband went to his out of town ball game, while StellaDella, Oreo and I went to the drug store to pick up a prescription of mine (DramaQueen is spending the night at a friends). I called my Dad to let him know that we were going to stop by Dairy Queen for some ice cream and would pick him something up if he wanted. If you know my Dad, that is a stupid question…of course he would like some ice cream! As I turned down his street, I saw the hot air balloon in the sky. We had a great view of it from his front porch as it floated over his house.
“Give me the splendid silent sun
with all his beams full-dazzling,
Give me juicy autumnal fruit ripe and red from the orchard,
Give me a field where the unmow'd grass grows,
Give me an arbor, give me the trellis'd grape,
Give me fresh corn and wheat, give me serene-moving animals teaching content,”

PLACE: On the way to the mall
SUBJECT: Sun between the corn stalks
Even though I despise going to the mall anytime during the weekend (there are way too many people for my taste), I ventured out with DramaQueen to Borders after supper because I needed to purchase a gift for my nephew’s 7th birthday party tomorrow. On the way, I noticed the cornstalks in the fields are beginning to dry out and turn brown – a sign that summer is winding down and fall will soon be here. I took a couple of pictures of the drying stalks, but DQ liked this one with the sun flare the best.

Our parish’s annual summer picnic was this evening. MonkeyBoy worked the chicken dinner with the Boy Scouts, bussing tables from 4-8pm. HandsomeHusband dropped him off at 4 (after we tore the house apart looking for his class “B” uniform shirt – never did find it – he borrowed one there), then took StellaDella to her 5:30 T-ball game while DramaQueen and I went to the picnic. It started raining around 6:30ish when HH and SD joined us – a real downpour - but I could see the sky was clearing a bit in the west. I was hoping for a rainbow to shoot and I wasn’t disappointed.

SUBJECT: Sidewalk chalk
Well, heck, now that I’ve uploaded the photo, StellaDella pointed out, that I did not arrange the chalk in the correct ”Roy G. Biv” order (Red, orange, yellow, Green, Blue, indigo & violet). First off, she informs me, my orange and my yellow are not in the correct spot AND I do not have an indigo piece of chalk. That’s what happens when you send them to school - they get the idea that they know more than you do and then have to show you up. Little Miss Smarty Pants…I am so proud of her. *wipes tear*

PLACE: Kitchen
SUBJECT: Wildberry punch mini Fruit Roll-Up
StellaDella loves Fruit Roll-Ups, Fruit By The Foot, and Fruit Snacks. Although the first listed ingredient on the box is pear concentrate, they are basically corn syrup, sugar & hydrogenated oil. No nutritional value at all. So if I pack one in her lunch, I try to counteract it out with some vanilla yogurt and a piece of real fruit. She asked for one this evening, “Just for a little snack Mom.” She brought it to me to open and I liked how the it was back lit from the kitchen light, almost like stained glass. It makes a pretty picture. So I guess they are good for something.

SUBJECT: Rainbow
Busy, busy day. Up early to travel 33 miles to MB’s football game which had a 9:00am start time. They won, which made the trip worth it. Back home to get MB and HH packed up for a Cub Scout campout at the Washington County Conservation area just south of Nashville, IL. After they left, the girls and I went out for a little retail therapy. Old Navy, Borders, a quick tour of the mall, then dinner at Fazolis. It was raining when we left the restaurant and when we looked up, we saw a rainbow. Since we were close by the park, I drove there to get a photo without those pesky electrical wires in the background. For a few minutes, we could make out a faint second rainbow that appeared above this one. It didn’t photograph well…bummer. Afterwards, we continued on to Target for essentials – kitty litter, dishwasher detergent, some socks, pj’s and t-shirts for SD, and various other sundry items. An exciting Saturday, don’t you think?
