April Snow (110/365)

TIME: 5:06 PM
PLACE: Front yard
SUBJECT: Squirrel in sand cherry

*~*~*

It's 4-20 and look at the that white stuff all over the place.

Coincidence?

That's not right.

Throwback Thursday (056/365)

TIME: 25 Feb 2011, 8:37 am
PLACE: Parking lot at former office
SUBJECT: The view

*~*~*

We had a bright, warm 70 degree day today.

On this date, back in 2011, it was a bit different....weather-wise and job-wise as well.

Last of the Snow Mounds (054/365)

TIME: 2:27 pm
PLACE: Our block
SUBJECT: Snow pile

*~*~*

I walked the dogs at lunch today and only needed a light jacket.

What a contrast compared with the single digit temperatures last week

Almost all the snow is gone except for the big piles like this one.

It can stay gone too.  I'm ready for spring.

Outdoor Dining Still Not Optimal (051/365)

TIME: 2:05 pm
PLACE: Downtown
SUBJECT: Table & Chairs

*~*~*

We had sun and warmer weather today!

Even though it is warmer, outdoor dining would still be a bit brisk and not really a good option.

Luckily, the state is in Phase 4 and we can dine indoors again.

Do Rabbits Like Geometry? (048/365)

TIME: 10:24 pm
PLACE: Yard
SUBJECT: Rabbit tracks

*~*~*

Apparently, the local rabbits can be a bit OCD when it comes to making tracks in the snow.

They made some pretty decent straight lines radiating to and from the tree.

Obviously, they weren't being chased my my dogs at the time.

Snow Day (046/365)

TIME: 1:17 pm
PLACE: Driving south on 159
SUBJECT: Tree line

*~*~*

The snow they were talking about arrived.

Lots of the white stuff all over the place.

HH had to drop off some paperwork south of town and I decided to go with him.

The roads were not good.

In fact, we had difficulties reversing out of the driveway of the place where he took his paperwork.  We had to have help getting out.  But, eventually, we made it.

SUBJECT: Chairs outside Rural King

We stopped by Rural King while we were out - why?  Because it was there and I had to use the facilities.

It was cold - like low single digits cold.

It was so cold, I wore a hat. I NEVER wear hats.

Here is a photo of me in my hat.  In the restroom. At Rural King.

I do exist.

Pawprints (040/365)

TIME: 8:24 pm
PLACE: Backyard
SUBJECT: Pawprints in the snow

*~*~*

It is cold out there.

I don't think it's supposed to get above freezing until Saturday the 20th.

We don't let the dogs stay out very long in these temperatures, but even so, they have managed to mark up the entire yard with pawprints.

Guess they are looking for another rabbit to catch.

Big Flakes (365/366)

TIME: 3:13 pm
PLACE: Looking out the home office window
SUBJECT: Snow

*~*~*

We had some big snowflakes coming down for awhile.

They weren't hamster sized, but some were rather quite large.

The ground was too warm for them to stick and soon you couldn't even tell we had any flurries.

Take Me Back Tuesday (350/366)

TIME: 15 Dec 2007 - 9:59 am
PLACE: Back yard
SUBJECT: StellaDella

*~*~*

Apparently on this day, 13 years ago, we had snow.

I think she had just laid down to make a snow angel.

End result is here:

Oh Hell No (335/366)

TIME: 8:42 am
PLACE: Outside
SUBJECT: Snowflakes on my car

*~*~*

I took the dogs out and there were flurries.

Flurries! WTF?

I am thankful that they didn't stick around.

So not ready for any white stuff to be falling from the sky.

The Size of Hamsters (070/365)

20180311_20180311_123939
TIME: 12:39 PM
PLACE: Home
SUBJECT: Snow

Our local weatherman predicted that we would have snowflakes “..the size of hamsters” at some point early today.

I’m not sure they were *that* big, but they were quite large and there was a lot of them falling.

I am so ready for spring.

20180217_IMG_5173

TIME: 1:06 PM
PLACE: Amann Drive
SUBJECT: Snow covered fields

It snowed just enough to make it a slight challenge to drive to SD’s Scholar Bowl tournament this morning – but, we made it without incident.

There were 8 local schools competing – 7 rounds of challenges.

Here is SD right before round #3.

Her team only lost two rounds and scored a total of 1,175 points…

Which got them 2nd place!

Supposedly this is just a tiny preview of what is to come on Tuesday evening.

First Snow of 2018 (005/365)

IMG_4907_e
TIME: 8:01 AM
PLACE: Driveway
SUBJECT: Snow on car roof

We received a light dusting of snow very early this morning.

I know it was early in the morning because when I was up at 3am to let the dogs out I saw it on the ground.  It wasn’t there when I went to bed earlier.

It’s still very cold.

Back to Work (053/365)

20171228_082137_e
TIME: 8:21 AM
PLACE: Work
SUBJECT: Parking lot view

My vacation ended and I had to go back to work today.

I didn’t want to, but I need those bi-weekly deposits into my checking account.

I park in the same spot everyday.  Since October 17th, I’ve been snapping a picture of this view before I get out of my car.  I hope to continue this for a year – we’ll see if it happens.
Here’s a comparison of my first photo from October 17th with the one I took today.

No Swimming/No Skating (062/365)

TIME:  4:38 PM
PLACE:  Bicentennial Park
SUBJECT:  Sign and fountain

I saw fog rising from the melting snow on my way home from work.
I stopped at the park and took a couple of pictures.
I didn’t really capture what I wanted…but these photos will do.

I can’t wait until the trees are full of green leaves again.

John Winger: Convicted? No.
Russell Ziskey: Never convicted.

TIME:  6:53 PM
PLACE:  Township High School
SUBJECT: Sign

As the sign says, there was a “Military Career Night” at one of the local high schools tonight.
My boy is very interested.
I’m proud that he wants to serve.
And terrified for him at the same time.

Sliding Snow (048/365)

20150217 IMG_5233a
“You always say "I'll quit when I start to slide," and then one morning you wake up and realize you've done slid.”
Sugar Ray Robinson (American Boxer, 1920-1989)

TIME: 2:31 PM
PLACE: Backyard
SUBJECT: Slide

I had scheduled today as a vacation day in early January.
There was a brief moment of panic yesterday, when it almost looked like the kids would be off for a snow day as well.
I love my kids, but needed a day just for me.
Thank goodness they had school.
