TIME: 4:43 PM
PLACE: Living Room couch
SUBJECT: MonkeyBoy, StellaDella and DramaQueen
As many of you may know, especially if you have school-age children, today is the birthday of Theodore Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, aka Theo. LeSieg (which is "Geisel" spelled backwards. He used this name for those books that he wrote, but others illustrated). Dr. Seuss was born on this date - March 2 - in 1904. He wrote over 60 children's books, of which two of my very favorites are "The Foot Book" & "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish". Go read one of his books tonight in honor of his birthday.
And I have a confession: I fully admit to the staging of this photo purely for blog fodder. I have no regrets.

Reading has been one of the most important things in our household! Great photo capture whether staged or not!
We started reading to the kids pretty much as soon as we brought them home from the hospital and it has paid off! They love reading and they do well in school. They got a book read to them every night and 15-30 minutes of music tapes played in their rooms as they went to sleep. They are both in the band/orchestra now.
Check out one of our favorites - And the Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins - it teaches a lesson about sharing.
Great picture! My daughter didn't pick out a Dr. Seuss book tonight. If I had read this before I would have read one to her. She loves books, & reading, she can't wait until she can read. I love One Fish Two fish, I also love Green Eggs & Ham.
Great great photo. I love to see kids reading, even if it is STAGED!!
Take care and have a great day
Great photo!!!
Staged or not, beautiful photo. Looks like your guy on the left is laughing behind his book?! ;)
You may have staged it, but it's a great picture! Nice to remember Dr Seuss too!
Dot O - We are big readers as well...I'll check that book out!
Ev - I like green eggs and ham, I like them, like them, Sam I am.
Sara G - They like reading, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" is big here right now.
Christina - Thank you!
Oz Girl - He was giggling and laughing because I was "yelling" at them, "Quit looking over at the TV, look at your books, don't look up for heavens sake, act casual and would it kill you to crack a smile? All I'm asking for is one good picture...work with me you guys!"
Mari - The kids celebrated his birthday at school and were more than willing to help out with a picture.
