"The turtle lives 'twixt plated decks
Which practically conceal its sex.
I think it clever of the turtle
In such a fix to be so fertile."
The Turtle, Odgen Nash (American poet, author, lyric-writer, 1902-1971)
TIME: 11:31 AM
PLACE: Longacre Park
SUBJECT: Turtles
I went into my client's office this morning and faxed some information to an insurance auditor. My client's Internet was down and he was at court this morning (he's a lawyer), leaving me with unexpected free time. So, I met up with my sister at a park and walked the trail. Our first time around the pond, we saw a large amount of turtles sunning themselves on a metal plate in the water. So, of course, on my trip past my car, I grabbed my camera and took a picture as we passed them the second time.

I have a couple of turtles just like them! Great photo!
wonderful animals - great colours!
Love how you captured this fantastic moment
Glad you were presented with this opportunity! It's a really cool photo! You don't see a pile of turtles every day.
What a cool picture -- they look supremely happy as they arch their heads toward the sun. Oh, and that bright green crop you saw in my last photo is the winter wheat taking off!
Wow! I would have done the same thing! Nice shot!
I love this!
Christina - I thought you'd like this photo!
bentonflocke - Thanks, it's neat to get a picture when you least expect it!
Dot O - I don't think I've seen that many turtles in one place before.
Oz Girl - Yep, all their heads were up basking in the sun.
