"It's not that I don't care for snakes,
But oh what do you do
When a 24-foot python says …
I love you?"

SUBJECT: Garter Snake
The HandsomeHusband rescued this snake in December. I posted about it here, on my other blog, Suzy Homemaker. Today was the first time it came up through the hole on the top of the flower pot that we have in the aquarium for its den. My cat, Jack, was going nuts. Whenever the snake comes out from under the pot, Jack is on top of the aquarium, twitching his tail and usually knocking something down in the process. Soon the snake will no longer be a part of our happy family. The plan is to release it at a nearby hiking trail, sometime in late April or early May, when the weather turns warmer.

Great shot!!!
That is a great photograph! You are brave...
I love snakes - and he is very cute. I love the angle of the shot.
Vicki - I can't believe I captured his (her?) tongue!
Dot O - I stuck the camera in the tank and started clicking. If the snake moved I would have been out of there so fast!
ETW - Do you want it? I'll send it to you! ;)
It's a good photo ~ and that's close enough for me ~ I am not fond of snakes! :)
Great photo of your pet snake!!
Good luck releasing him back to nature.
I love the picture, but wouldn't care for the snake!
fantastic picture, but it make me shutter.
Christina - I'm not too fond of them either!
Sara G - I'm looking forward to May.
Mari - The "not fond of" appears to be the consensus!
