Water Fielding: Do you know how hard it is to find a really good carpenter? Besides, I think he's got a brother who's a plumber!
Anna Crowley: Really? A brother who's a plumber?
Water Fielding: I think so.
Anna Crowley: Do you think I should sleep with him?
Water Fielding: Maybe just this once.
The Money Pit (Tom Hanks, Shelley Long, Richard Benjamin-director, 1986)
TIME: 9:03 PM
PLACE: Our bathroom
SUBJECT: Remodeling carnage
The time has come to remodel the two bathrooms upstairs. They probably should have been redone before we moved into the house 8 years ago, but it all takes time and money. And unfortunately, we don't have a lot of either. But, it can't put it off any longer - the craptacular shower was leaking, and the cold water in the sink was continuously dripping, no matter how many times HandsomeHusband replaced the washers. Plus, we need to redo the bathrooms before we can even begin to think about replacing the kitchen downstairs (my main goal!), because of the plumbing. Ahh, the joys of living in an older home; something always needs to be done.

That must be hard to look at but then you are probably excited to know it will all be remodeled! Can't wait to see the "after!" pics!
I agree with Dot O Can´t wait to see how it´s going on!
Hard work, much dirt but when it´s ready you´ll be glad!!
Oh I know, isn't it a joy? We are still in the middle of remodeling our kitchen (since fall)... with hubby's work schedule, it is difficult to finish it. He is in Seattle for a month right now, just left on Monday. :-( I need to finish painting the upper cabinets, and plan to do that while he is gone.
Good luck on your bath redo! :)
Nice photo.
Hey, I sleep with my plumber....but he happens to be my hubby too!!
You will really enjoy your new bathrooms when it is DONE!!
Take care
Good luck with your remodel project!
Dot O - I am excited! It seems like we've been planning this forever!
bentonflocke> - Several weeks of mess for a new bathroom, I hope I can handle it!
Oz Girl - I still have to paint woodwork in the dining room. THAT project started last September. One day...
Sara G - LOL, I'm sleeping with the plumber as well (HandsomeHusband). Not sure how much it's helping though. *wink*
Christina - It's always a success if HH and I don't kill each other during the process. ;)
We've been through that too. It'll be worth it in the end!
Mari - After this one, then we move to the kid's bathroom upstairs...then maybe, eventually the kitchen when we have enough cash again!
