My Triangles (321/366)
SUBJECT: Triangles of leaves, sidewalk and grass
*~*~*
I was trying to capture a good perspective of the triangles I saw in the sidewalk, the dried leaves and the patch of grass.
I took several photos from several different angles and just couldn't get it to work the way I wanted - this is the best shot of the lot.
To make up for it, here, for your entertainment (if you so wish to listen) is James Blunt singing "My Triangle" with Telly on Sesame Street.

Light Difference (307/366)
*~*~*
It was bright and sunny today - the maple tree in the front yard has some nice color and contrast against the cedar tree.
With the time changing this weekend, it is getting close to dark when I sign out for the day.
I don't like the time change, however, I am grateful that I don't have to drive home in it anymore.

Alley Leaves and a Fly (272/366)
SUBJECT: Leaves in a water puddle
*~*~*
I think fall arrived today in the form of a cold rain which knocked some foliage off the trees.

SUBJECT: Fly
*~*~*
We have had several flies flitting around the house the past week or so.
I hope the cold does away with them soon.

I don’t know what insect/disease is doing this to these leaves.
And I’m sure it’s not a good thing for the tree.
But, they do look pretty.

Than last, or year before;"

StellaDella has been down for the count the last week. The official diagnosis by the pediatrician on Saturday is an upper respiratory infection. She was prescribed azithromycin to fight the infection. Unfortunately, she still couldn’t go to school today. My dad, God bless him, agreed to watch her while HH and I were at work. I dropped her off at his house this morning and saw that the tree planted in the front yard 30+ years ago is once again dressed for fall.

All the warm wakeful August night."

Dad joined us for supper at the Elks this evening. After we ate, MB and SD went swimming, I drove DQ to a party and then returned to join Dad on the deck by the bar and concession stand. The deck lights lit up the underside of the trees, illuminating them against the black sky.

First, a big thank you to all the veterans and their families for their service and whose sacrifices keep this country safe. We are forever in your debt.

I was thinking about taking a photo at 11:11:11am since today is 11-11-11, but I was at work and when I looked at the clock it was too late. Doh! So you all get yet another fall vignette. What can I say…some days I take the easy way out.

Fall Steps (313/365)
Leaves scatter on treads
Paint peeling beneath colors
November fall steps
Original haiku by Sujomi
TIME: 4:28 PM
PLACE: Front porch
SUBJECT: Leaves on front steps
Just a week ago, I left for my shopping vacation in Texas. After listening to my two older children fighting, then racing to see who got to sit in the front seat after the basketball game this evening, I wished I was still there. Since I’m stuck here, I used my Solomon-like wisdom and proclaimed my judgment on the stalemate. Neither one ended up riding shotgun. I simply locked the passenger door and made both of them sit in the backseat.

Leaves, They Are A Changin’ (258/365)
“Change is inevitable - except from a vending machine.”
~Robert C. Gallagher
TIME: 6:14 PM
PLACE: East end of town
SUBJECT: Tree with changing leaves
On my way to StellaDella’s soccer practice after dropping MonkeyBoy off at his, and DramaQueen at a friends (just call me Mom’s shuttle service), I saw something that made me stop in my tracks…this. The leaves are beginning to change. And it’s the middle of September. Already. Crap.

Ripe (165/365)
“There will always be something to ruin our lives, it all depends on what or which finds us first. We are always ripe and ready to be taken.”
Charles Bukowski (American short-story Writer, Poet and Novelist, 1920-1994)
TIME: 7:43 PM
PLACE: Backyard
SUBJECT: Raspberries
A quick post as I think everything has finally caught up to me. I’ve been tired and sleepy and have not felt well at all today. It’s very frustrating to not be able to do things. I tell myself that I am very lucky and this is only temporary, so I need to quit grumbling and count my blessings.

A Tree (123/365)
“A tree's a tree. How many more do you need to look at?”
Ronald Reagan (b. 1911), U.S. Republican politician, president. speech, Sept. 12, 1965. Quoted in Sacramento Bee (California, Mar. 12, 1966). Reagan later denied having made this statement.
TIME: 6:16 PM
PLACE: Little League field
SUBJECT: Tree
MonkeyBoy had his first, not-rained out, out-of-town, baseball game tonight. He really wanted me to watch him play (and I wanted to as well.) Unfortunately, StellaDella also had t-ball practice at the same time. So I took SD to practice while HH (the coach!) went with MB. It was chilly at practice, so I sat in the car. I took this photo through the front windshield while I watched SD practice.

Mr. Tree (112/365)
Dorothy: [Reaches to pick an apple from the apple tree, the tree grabs the apple and slaps her hand] Ouch!
Apple Tree: What'd'ya think you're doing?
Dorothy: We've been walking a long ways and I was hungry and... did you say something?
Apple Tree: She was hungry! Well, how would you like to have someone come along and pick something off of you?
Dorothy: Oh dear! I keep forgetting I'm not in Kansas!
The Wizard of Oz. 1939. MGM. DVD.
TIME: 6:05 PM
PLACE: Backyard
SUBJECT: Face on a tree trunk
After supper, StellaDella told me that she wanted to show me something outside. I asked if I needed to bring my camera…well, duh! Mom. She directed me to the pine tree and explained the supplies used in her design. Leaves for the eyes, a piece of corncob for the nose (she had to reach under the fence to get that) and painted mud for the mouth. I’m glad I took a photo – we had big storms again this evening, so I’m sure that the face will not be there tomorrow morning.
