A Little Privacy Please (259/365)

2009 09 16 IMG_0066
“A new father quickly learns that his child invariably comes to the bathroom at precisely the times when he's in there, as if he needed company. The only way for this father to be certain of bathroom privacy is to shave at the gas station.”

Bill Cosby (20th century), U.S. comedian. Fatherhood, ch. 3 (1986).

TIME:  9:43 PM
PLACE:  The bathroom
SUBJECT:  Privacy glass

We live in an older home with windows that need serious replacement and updating to be more energy efficient.  Our bathrooms have vintage privacy glass on both the top and bottom sashes.  I have always liked the texture and pattern on these panes of glass.  Tonight, the streetlight outside was shining on the window, radiating its light on the glass.  I thought it looked pretty cool.

Very, very interesting photo! I have been away from here too long. Here's hoping that the fall will bring me back to my normal routine.

We have privacy glass on the window in the bathroom on the main floor. I don't think it has the same intricate detail that yours has, though.

Great photo!!!

Great thinking and imagination. Loved your narrative.

It isn't just father's who have problems when they need privacy in the bathrooms. My youngest daughter was a talker. I leaned to listen with one ear. She would start on a subject, and then maybe I'd have to go to the bathroom. She would simply follow me in there, sit on the tub and continue with her conversation. Always!

She left home and then she came to visit after a length of time. There was no change!!! It was like yesterday wasn't interrupted!

The only way I could have privacy was to lock the door. :D

Good that you and HH were able to have a nice quiet luncheon together. We sometimes ignore the finer things in our relationships. Good job.

You really are imaginative with your shots. Who would have thought this would have turned out so cool!

Like Dot, I'm hoping the cooler weather will get me back to my internet wanderings. I feel like I've missed so much this summer!
