We just had MB's car detailed in anticipation of his homecoming in the next few weeks.
Of course, it rained this evening, but you can tell they did wax it.

We had several rain showers again today. These are some of the rain drops on the branches of the budding Purple Sand Cherry. Do you see that rain drop furthest to the right in the middle of the photograph? If you get closer, you can see what it is reflecting. Here, let me crop that for you:.
I can crop it a bit more to get you closer still:
Do you see it now? It’s a reflection of my neighbor’s house across the street.

Yes, I know it is St. Patrick’s Day.
Yes, I know it would be appropriate to post something green.
But I’m not Irish.
I’m Czech.
And Sicilian.
That means I can post what I want.
So there! ;)

The first day of summer has arrived. It was also take-the-three-kids-to-the-dentist-day. Such a plethora of excitement! After the appointment, we went to Target to pick up a few things for DQ who is going to the Ozarks for five days with her second cousin. There was a thunderstorm while we were in the store, it cleared up after a bit and the sun shone again. After supper, while I was sitting on the porch, we had a sun shower – a weather phenomenon I always find fascinating.

My dad called me at 8:22 to tell me that the sky was looking pretty spectacular this evening. Yes it did…even with the pesky power lines in the way. Thanks for the photo tip Dad!

This day before Thanksgiving was a dark rainy one. Nevertheless, my day was brightened by a good-looking, younger guy next to me at the credit union drive up lanes. He told me I was pretty, he loved my beautiful smile and he’d like to take me away and make me feel like I was sixteen again. I told him that I didn’t think my husband would like that ~ he said that he’d have me back before the husband knew I was gone. I said that while I appreciated the offer, I had to decline and then wished him a Happy Thanksgiving. And yes, there was a big, silly grin on my face the rest of the drive home.

SUBJECT: View through the Miata’s rear plastic window
The part to fix the Jeep’s rear speed sensor finally came in and last night we dropped the Jeep off at the dealership to be fixed today. This morning was rainy, wet, overcast and cool…definitely a fall day. I drove the Miata to work and found out that the rubber edging on the convertible top was not sealing properly and was letting the rain leak in through the driver’s side window and onto my clothes *deep sigh* ~ ah, well, it’s only water right? At least it dried fairly quickly once I made it into the office.
I've gotta gal, oh what a pal
The apple of my eye
With something rare, a peach of a pear
But her dad won't let us meet and I could die
I love Petunia the gardener's daughter
Oooh how that gal can kiss
Her eyes are blue as bluebells
Each cheek a rose to see
How I dance when she plants her two lips on me
I'm as daffy as a daffodil
I long to kiss her all the time
Tonight I'll steal into her garden
And make Petunia's two lips mine

SUBJECT: Petunia
This morning, I casually mentioned to HandsomeHusband that we really needed to start planting something in our flower beds by the front porch. I said that I would love to have a yellow rose bush and maybe another one in whatever color he liked best. He left a short time later to run some errands and when he returned, he had two rosebushes (one yellow, one red) and a large hanging planter of purple and red petunias. Hmmm, so it just doesn't go in one ear and out the other! Just when I think I am talking to the wall, he surprises me. He even dug the holes so I could plant them. StellaDella watered them and only broke one branch off the yellow rose bush by dragging the hose through the flower beds to water the peonies. I consider that a success. ;)
