Outside with the dogs on a cold night.

TIME: 7:58 PM
PLACE: Front porch looking west
SUBJECT: Sky & power lines
We received a pretty hard down pour just now.
It’s still light out and the sky looks pretty cool.
TIME: 4:20 PM (Tee-hee!)
PLACE: Front yard

The Husband and I are officially old people.
We left the house to eat before 5pm so we could miss the crowds, get back home and go to bed early.
He went to bed. I let the dogs out.
They escaped the yard and SD, DQ and I had to go searching for them.
After about 15 minutes SD and I located them about 2 blocks away. She shoved them in the car and we brought them home. They showed no remorse for their behavior.
A wild Friday night!

(taken with cell phone – I hate taking pictures with the cell phone.)
After spending the day sanding and stripping woodwork for the bathroom, I needed ice cream.
I went to the White Cottage and ate a Concrete with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and chocolate syrup.
It perked me up.

SUBJECT: The morning sky
I wake at 5:30 am every morning so I can be on my way to work by 7:00 am. At least, I try. I’m usually running behind – for example, today I was 11 minutes behind schedule. I’m not a morning person, but seeing skies like this helps me face the day.

The ubiquitous “they” said we had a good chance of rain today. Well, “they” were wrong. It’s still dry.
“Can you see the sunset real good on the West side? You can see it on the East side too.”

PLACE: Shopping center
SUBJECT: Sun
Not much time to take a photo today. But I loved the color of the sky and the big yellow sun as it was setting this evening, so I quickly took this before we walked into the store to buy MonkeyBoy a new pair of swim trunks. The pool opens up this holiday weekend – summer is starting!

MonkeyBoy had another game this afternoon. It was much warmer on the field today (low 90’s). He played goalie for the first half, then as a defender for the last. They won 8-0. On the way to the air-conditioned car, MB told me that he like being goalie better than fullback. I think that was because it had to be brutal running up and down the field in this heat.

I like rain puddles. The reflections are always different depending upon where you stand.

The first day of summer has arrived. It was also take-the-three-kids-to-the-dentist-day. Such a plethora of excitement! After the appointment, we went to Target to pick up a few things for DQ who is going to the Ozarks for five days with her second cousin. There was a thunderstorm while we were in the store, it cleared up after a bit and the sun shone again. After supper, while I was sitting on the porch, we had a sun shower – a weather phenomenon I always find fascinating.

My dad called me at 8:22 to tell me that the sky was looking pretty spectacular this evening. Yes it did…even with the pesky power lines in the way. Thanks for the photo tip Dad!

(Taken with my crappy cell phone camera because the batteries died in my PowerShot-Grrrrrrr)
When I entered the vestibule at work this morning, I saw this case of Budweiser Select holding open the door. What you can’t see behind me are many, many more cases of beer (and a few cases of soda). Why? The office building annual bar-be-que is tomorrow. Here’s hoping it won’t get rained out. Speaking of rain – we were hit with more storms this afternoon. DramaQueen surprised me by keeping me company on the front porch for awhile…until she saw this cloud formation:
Then she headed for the basement. The clouds turned out to be more bark than bite – our area ended up with just some rain and a bit of wind.

Again, I had another uninspired and not too interesting of a day. I did some cleaning – the bathroom and StellaDella’s room. I ended up needing a rake to get everything out from under her bed. Good gravy, she had an enormous amount of junk under there – what bad feng shui. Then, late this afternoon, the kids and I - HandsomeHusband was off visiting his good friend - went to pick up gift cards for some birthday parties we are attending tomorrow. After picking those up, we went to Steak ‘n Shake to eat dinner. Exciting times!

More rain arrived this morning. Around 10:30am, it stopped and the kids and I left to spend big bucks at the grocery store, the farmer's market and the milk store (where I like to buy our milk in 1/2 gallon glass bottles-it just tastes better in glass!) The sun peeked out for a little while this afternoon and then another storm front moved in. This front arrived just in time to cancel MonkeyBoy's baseball game. We had a tornado watch in effect as well. I was hoping to capture some lightning, but did not have any luck.
