A Fresh Jar of Skippy (059/365)

20180228_20180228_071832
TIME: 7:18 AM
PLACE: Kitchen
SUBJECT: Freshly opened peanut butter jar

The dogs receive a Milk Bone with peanut butter each morning.

Oreo’s has 2 dog aspirin hidden in the spread to help alleviate her pain for the arthritis in her hips. Mulder’s is just a Milk Bone slathered with some peanut butter.

I had to open a new container today – I was disappointed that my finger disturbed the smoothness when I pulled the freshness seal off the top of the jar.

Fitting Room (058/365)

20180227_20180227_194748
TIME: 7:47 PM
PLACE: The mall
SUBJECT: Dressing room rack

SD needed some new clothes for school – jeans and such – so it was off to the mall this evening.

It surprised me how empty it was, I know it’s a Tuesday night and all, but still….I’m a child of the Eighties and the mall was where it was at.  Makes me feel old.

2 pairs of blue jeans, a hoodie cardigan sweater and a t-shirt later, we were finished.

HH and I had tastes of their Three Blind Mice Brown Ale, Top Top Tropical Pale Ale and Uncanny American Pale Ale – all very tasty.

I was gifted a keychain with a handy bottle opener – bonus!

Jackie, Wilbert, Frank and Brooks.

Now you know.

#1 – It should be “Since You’re Gone” not “Since Your Gone”

#2 – I know The Cars have been around awhile, but “Greayest Hits” Seriously?

It really bothers me.
Who is responsible for this?

20180218_20180218_105546
TIME: 10:55 AM
PLACE: KrankyK9
SUBJECT: Mulder

Here is Mulder at his first day of Leash Ninja training – actually, the truth of the matter is, it’s MY first day of Leash Ninja training. See my foot on the left, tethering him on the leash?  I’m learning!

He did well as can be expected. He’s pretty smart, which is part of the problem.

After, there was a doggie social – he had a good time running around the yard with about 10 other dogs.  No headlocks going on today!

Also, he was much better in the car on the way back home than he was on the way there; he was one tired pup.

Snow and Scholars (048/365)

20180217_IMG_5173

TIME: 1:06 PM
PLACE: Amann Drive
SUBJECT: Snow covered fields

It snowed just enough to make it a slight challenge to drive to SD’s Scholar Bowl tournament this morning – but, we made it without incident.

There were 8 local schools competing – 7 rounds of challenges.

  20180217_105447
Here is SD right before round #3.

Her team only lost two rounds and scored a total of 1,175 points…

 20180217_20180217_155843
Which got them 2nd place!

TIME: 9:35 PM
PLACE: Home Sweet Home
SUBJECT: Vintage Paint-by-Number

I acquired this painting last year from our local thrift shop.

I was debating whether or not to purchase it – it was a bit higher than my price point.  Then I decided, “Screw it, I’ll regret it if I don’t buy it.”

Turns out, all framed pictures were 1/2 price that day – it only cost me $13.50

Sweet.

And I think Mulder would eat them.

20180210_20180210_184100
TIME: 6:41 PM
PLACE: India’s Oven
SUBJECT: StellaDella

This beauty is now 14 – fourteen!!!!

After a day of hosting a Dungeons and Dragons session at our house, she chose to eat cuisine she has never tried before, Indian food,

She ate Paneer Pakora as an appetizers (deep fried cheese dipped in garbanzo bean batter) and Prawns Masala (prawns in tomato sauce) with basmati rice and nan (leavened bread).

She loved it – afterwards we went to Barnes and Noble to browse a bit.

Happy Birthday StellaDella!

Cookies & Clif Bars (040/365)

20180209_IMG_5137
TIME: 8:42 PM
PLACE: Kitchen
SUBJECT: Care package items

Now that MonkeyBoy is out of Basic Training and at Advanced Individual Training, I can send more “fun” things to him, rather than be restricted to shampoo, soap, etc..

So, for Valentine’s Day he’s getting some of his favorite cookies, protien bars and goldfish crackers (individual servings, as in accordance with guidelines)

I packed it all in a box I had on hand -
20180210_IMG_5144
I hope he doesn't get too much flack for it.

My big February/Valentine decoration for work.

20180203_20180203_104642

TIME: 10:46 AM
PLACE: America’s Center, St. Louis
SUBJECT: Line to enter Wizard World

StellaDella wanted to go to Wizard World – again.

It’s been a couple of years.

So, I took her.

20180203_104813
I got to see the Blues Brothers while waiting in line to get through security.

20180203_20180203_111058

SD with Bender and all the R2 units.

She is dressed up as Pent from Khonjin House.
Yeah, I have no idea who she is.
No one there knew who she was either – she even had a sign offering a $5 Target gift card if they could guess who she was.
No one did.
She out-obscured the nerds!
That’s my girl.

20180203_20180203_144908
I saw Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite).

20180203_20180203_144916
…Thomas Ian Nicholas (Rookie of the Year, Walt Disney in Walt Before Mickey and American Pie)

20180203_20180203_154843
SD attempted to ride the bull – she lasted 26 seconds!

I didn’t get to see Sean Astin or Sean Bean’s panel, but I did step aside so Billy Boyd could pass by in a golf cart.

20180203_IMG_5096
This is who I really wanted to see, James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Smallville, Marvel’s Runaways)

Those cheekbones!

I couldn’t figure out where the theatre where his panel was held.  I was wandering and all of a sudden I hear “Coming through” and there he was in a golf cart.  I stalked followed the cart, and ended up walking about 3 feet behind him when he disembarked.  Hey, it was a nice way to find the theatre.

Throwback Thursday (032/365)

RDC_PIC (219)_e
TIME: 1974 or 1975?
PLACE: Backyard of childhood home
SUBJECT: L-R, Toto, Me, Michael, John

I think I’m 7 or 8 in this picture.

Nice rear end shot of Toto – our wire-haired fox terrier.

My brothers, acting so cool.  Pretending to throw a snowball (at my mom? Probably, Dad was more than likely at work)

I remember that shirt John is wearing.  I think it was a hand-me-down from oldest brother Michael.  Pretty edgy.

There I am…in patterned pants, patterned-trimmed coat and patchwork hat.  It looks like I’m holding hands with the snowman.

I would love to have that hat again – it’s pretty cool.
