I Said No Pictures! (192/365)

2009 07 11 IMG_7868
The bee that hath honey in her mouth hath a sting in her tail.

John Lyly (Lilly or Lylie) (English writer, best known for his books Euphues, The Anatomy of Wit and Euphues and His England, c. 1553 or 1554–1606)

TME:  6:32 PM
PLACE:  The side of the house
SUBJECT:  A pissed off bumblebee

The bumblebees just love my Rose of Sharon bushes that are planted on the side of the house.  They are busy burrowing in the flowers gathering the pollen with their butts sticking out between the petals.  But when they back-out and see my camera lens, apparently they can get a little testy.  I snapped this just before I made a hasty retreat due to an angry bee barreling toward my face.  I did not get stung, but I guess I do need to learn to pick more cooperative subjects in the future.

~Just me again~ - Thanks! It took a few times to capture this guy!

Susan - I should have turned the "click" to silent mode, maybe they didn't care for the noise!

Mari - I thought the quote was perfect for this too.
