The acorn's not yet
Fallen from the tree
That's to grow the wood,
That's to make the cradle,
That's to rock the bairn,
That's to grow a man,
That's to lay me.

SUBJECT: Acorns
Today was a day spent doing laundry and trying to catch our breath from our busy weekend. From 6-8pm tonight, MonkeyBoy had football practice and the girls had their cheerleading practice. HandsomeHusband is helping out by doing some coaching for the boys, so I was with the girls. I got a kick out of watching StellaDella learning the cheers. I sincerely hope her co-ordination kicks in soon, LOL! During the cheer breaks, she amused herself by plucking the young acorns from the tree. She set them by me for safekeeping - placing them on the railroad tie that served as my chair for the evening. I turned the camera to its macro setting, put it on the weathered wood by my right hip and pressed the shutter. This is what I got.

Wonderful shot!!! Sometimes these impromptu shots are the best. Love the weathered wood texture and the green green acorns, with their textured hull. Great contrasts here. Nice job.
Beautiful photo!
I love the green color that just jumps out at you!!
It's a great shot! The railroad tie makes a perfect background!
This is such a great photo because of all of the different textures seen between the wood and then the tops of the acorns.
I find it very, very pleasing to look at.
